Bringing my own labor gown. When should I change into it?

I got a lovely Lila delivery gown as a baby shower gift, and I'm very excited to be able to wear it instead of a hospital gown. However, I know birth is messy and that people often change hospital gowns a few times. When are the times that you might be most likely to change your gown? I'd like to try to time putting it on so that I get the longest stretch of being comfortable in it before it's too gross and needs to be changed. I was thinking maybe if I just wait until after my water breaks, as poop and blood seem hard to predict or like late stage things, but this is my first birth and I don't actually know the reality of how it all goes.
