What are some things you've learned about dating that you didn't quite understand in your 20s?

Throughout my 20s, I stayed in a relationship that made me incredibly unhappy. The fear of being alone kept me from leaving, and I constantly told myself things would improve over time. Instead, I ended up losing myself in the process, falling into depression while trying to maintain a facade.

Now that I’ve finally ended that chapter, I feel a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I’m rediscovering who I am, feeling more confident, and truly happy.

I’ve recently started dating again, and it’s a completely different experience from when I was 18, especially with how much social media and dating apps have shaped the landscape. I’m still figuring it out, but I’m now clearer on what I want in a partner, approaching it with a healthier mindset. And I’ve made peace with the idea that, if I don’t end up with someone, I’ll be okay. I’ve realized that there are so many things in life that bring me true joy, beyond just finding a partner.
