This girl that likes me was in an abusive relationship. She just dumped him earlier when we hung out and asked her to be my FwB. Am I a red flag?

More context:

I reached out to my friend a few days ago and I didn’t know she was still dating this one guy Bcs I thought she removed her posts or at least doesn’t make anymore posts with him. Apparently they’re still dating and are about to hit a month this weekend.

I haven’t hung out with this friend and I honestly felt like reaching out to her to catch up and I knew she had a crush on me. While we were catching up and talking the idea of being a fwb came up and we were both open to it which was nice. But, I also realized she was still dating this guy.

I expressed my concern to her and asked her about him. She opened up and basically described him as being very abusive. She’s been talking to other friends and they all agree that he’s an asshole but she’s too nice to dump him.

So, I was another voice to urge her to dump him… and she did. Like on the spot she dumped him. So her friends are happy for her and so am I. She did admit that her liking me a bit more than her boyfriend was enough to drop him.

Now here I am thinking to myself… “Shit, am I a red flag?” Like, I know I’m looking out for my friend, but at the same time I know an argument can be made that I’m making her cheat on him for me and our fwb.

P.S. we didn’t fuck yet
