Alimony discussion

I see a lot of men complaining about alimony and the double standards in India, especially when women are working. While it might seem unfair to some extent, I am frustrated by certain details that are conveniently overlooked.

In India, dowry is still widely prevalent, regardless of the woman’s employment status. And then there are the wedding expenses! These are almost always borne by the bride's parents, and they can be exorbitant—often equivalent to the cost of a house or more, depending on the gold, gifts, and other expectations.

Just because a woman is financially independent doesn’t mean she is exempt from the traditional expectations imposed by society.
