Is it legal to shoot at a someone breaking into your car on your property in the state of Georgia?
Based on my understanding:
- Use of lethal force is authorized to defend a habitation from the commission of a felony.
- A habitation is one's place of work, residence, or vehicle to and from.
- Breaking into a car is a felony in the state of Georgia.
Therefore, shooting at someone breaking into your car on your property is perfectly legal, as a vehicle parked in the driveway of someone's home would qualify as their habitation, and breaking into that habitation is a felony.
Am I correct in this?
