Tickets before Deutschland ticket

Hi everyone, I read in the news couple of days ago that there will be changes applied to the Deutschland ticket price and the current political opposition is aiming for a change on how it’s funded. This sparked a question in my head, what were the prices of tickets for monthly or yearly subscription if I wanted to commute in the entire state I live in freely? I tried to search for something like that but got lost a bit.
