Kuhli Loaches burrowing

I have 7 stripped loaches (started with 9) that have been in the tank over a year. I've never seen all 9 out, so just assuming that i lost 2.

Today there was one loach actively digging in the mud/sand substrate in the front of the tank, and i was fortunate to catch a video. I haven't seen zoomie behavior in months, so maybe this is good?

It's a tank of mostly nano fish and shrimp. The tank gets fed a variety of live and prepared food. Once I saw some feeding Repashy food but it's rare I get more than a glimpse.
