Dear American Express: The "Additional Platinum Card" versus a "Companion Card" is confusing

Dear American Express,

Your whole Additional Platinum Card and Companion Card thing is confusing. It's not clear which does what and isn't helped by the fact the cards (at least in your email promotion) look the same.

This feels like a half-baked program that was deployed too early.
