Why has Niger not had as many serious Tuareg insurgencies as Mali?

It seems that compared to Niger, Mali has had a much harder time with fighting Tuareg Insurgencies/Rebellions. Niger has not had any serious Tuareg uprisings since the one from 2007-2009, Whereas Mali has not only dealt with more (The Tuareg rebellions of 1962-1964 and the most recent and ongoing one since 2012), the Tuaregs there seem to want either autonomy of full independence, whereas the Tuaregs of Niger are mainly resisting the government in order to gain more access to Uranium resources. Can anyone give a deeper insight into the situation in both countries, Please?
