Black screen after driver first installation on a RX 6700 10gb - no fix worked so far

Hello there, I just purchased a used RX 6700 10gb as an upgrade for light gaming in my old pc.
It works just fine until Windows Update installs the drivers. Black screen and never recovers.

I tried:

  1. Uninstalling any old driver with DDU (I'm coming from a RX 550).
  2. Installing driver with Adrenalin software - same black screen.
  3. Clean install Windows 11 (I'm on 10 right now) on a different disk. Same outcome: black screen after windows update.
  4. Three different HDMI cables (not sure if they're 2.1 or 2.0 or 1.4 because there's nothing written on them).
  5. My motherboard BIOS is up to date.
  6. Loading default settings for BIOS.

Maybe useful to know: if I turn on iGPU from BIOS (multi-output option) and connect my monitor to mobo through VGA, FanControl and HWInfo64 recognize the card correcly. So it seems to me the problem is specifically the display output with the driver installed.

Before buying this I checked compatibility with pcpartpicker.
Here's my current build: https://it.pcpartpicker.com/user/Tralaltro/saved/#view=tXV44D

Now I can only make three guesses:

  1. My motherboard is not compatible with the GPU itself. Could it be the case? Solution would be expensive because I have to make a whole new build.
  2. My mobo is not compatible with these drivers. I should start trying old drivers until I find one that works. Given that AMD website only offers previous drivers in the full package with Adrenalin software, It would take a long time just to download them all. But I'll start doing it.
  3. The HDMI cable is too old and incompatible (it's a 4K Primewire hdmi I bought some 4 or 5 years ago).

Can I rule out one of these?
Would PCpartpicker tell if the motherboard was incompatible with the GPU?

I'm currently writing this post using the card without the driver.

If helpful, I'll rewrite the post using the model of the sub.
