Nicotine Withdrawals

I would like to know more about the effect that stopping smoking cigarettes will have on your heart and Afib related issues like palpitations and so forth. I smoked my last cigarette and will take a lozenge the next time that I think I need one. So even though I'm attempting to stop those nasty ridiculous things, could it adversely affect my heart?
