Is there a strong casual player base?

Hey all. I'm a newer member and just a bit intimidated by some of the time requirements. I know that reddit will of course have some of the most dedicated fans but I was just wondering if there's places to meet and chat with more casual players.

I'm really looking for advice to play the game in a laid back way that doesn't offer the double digit play time a week, meet friends, and just enjoy the game at a slower pace!
